Web design · Co. Kilkenny
Web design in Kilkenny, from the other end of the Nore.
Nore Digital is named after the river that runs from Laois through Kilkenny city, and the practice works the same stretch. I'm Shane Burke, a software engineer with 20 years' experience, based in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois — within an hour of most of the county, and in Kilkenny often enough that calling in is no trouble.
What I do is narrow on purpose: build fast, modern sites for local businesses at a fixed price, and look after the whole web presence afterwards — domain, email, certificate, hosting, backups, small changes — for a fixed monthly fee, with one person responsible for all of it.
Where I work
Across Kilkenny, in person when it helps.
The north of the county — Castlecomer, Ballyragget, Crutt, Freshford — is nearer to Abbeyleix than Kilkenny city is, and the city itself is a short run down the N77. For a first conversation I'm happy to come to you; most of what follows is done by phone and email, the way you'd expect.
- Kilkenny city
- Castlecomer
- Ballyragget
- Freshford
- Urlingford
- Thomastown
- Bennettsbridge
- Callan
- Graiguenamanagh
- Inistioge
- Mooncoin
- Piltown
- Johnstown
- Crutt
What it costs
The prices are published. They're the same for everyone.
The Care Plan
€75/month
Domain, email, SSL, hosting, backups, security updates, and small content changes — one local person responsible for all of it.
Works with the site you already have — no rebuild required to start.
A new or rebuilt site
€1,200from
Three fixed-price tiers, quoted before any work starts. You see a working version of your site before you commit to anything.
All three tiers →What's different
Working with one local engineer.
Local, and reachable
Plenty of agencies have a Kilkenny page; fewer have been to Kilkenny. The same person who builds the site answers the phone afterwards, and can sit at your counter and go through it.
Built by an engineer
Two decades of professional software work behind every site. Quote forms, bookings, payments and integrations are engineered in from day one, not bolted on with a plugin.
Looked after, not just launched
A site is a stack of things with expiry dates. The care plan keeps the domain, email, certificate, hosting and backups healthy, and makes your changes for you, for a flat monthly fee.
Fixed prices, seen first
€75 a month for the care plan. Builds are quoted as fixed tiers before any work starts, and you see a working version of your site before paying for it.
No pitch
I talk to people who ask. Request the free health check and you get a written answer and no follow-up calls unless you want them.
Plain English
Findings, quotes and the monthly plan are explained in ordinary words. You should never need to know what DMARC is, only that your invoices are landing in inboxes.
Recent work in Kilkenny
A family joinery, properly online.
Crutt Joinery is a family-run traditional joinery workshop in north Kilkenny. The site was built to show the bespoke doors, windows and staircases they make and to make enquiring easy; the domain, hosting and email are looked after on an ongoing basis.
Start with the free check
Send your web address, or just the name of the business, and I'll check ten points across your whole web presence — domain, email, certificate, speed, search visibility, backups and more — and send you the findings in plain English. Free, no obligation, and the note is yours whoever does the work.
